Suncoast Trades Academy is a small-group construction and trades enrichment program where homeschool students put down the tablet, pick up real tools, and learn to measure, read plans, and build with their own hands. Math finally makes sense when you're holding the tape measure.

Five tool-based games — sort tools, read a tape measure, sequence a build, spot hazards, and match tools to jobs. Three levels each, from Apprentice to Master. It's the fun first step before joining the interest list, and it helps us suggest the right age band and starting level.
Kids are brilliant on a screen. What about with their hands?
Most learning happens in two dimensions — reading, watching, swiping. But the trades live in three dimensions. They reward patience, precision, and the kind of problem-solving you can only learn by doing. We built a place where homeschool students get to do exactly that.
The gap we see
Many kids rarely get to build anything real. Abstract math, no shop class, and a world of swipes leaves the "how do I actually make this?" muscle untrained.
Math you can touch
Fractions, area, and geometry stop being homework the moment a cut list depends on them. Students apply real math to real materials — and remember it.
Confidence that compounds
Nothing builds confidence like finishing something with your own hands. Students leave with skills, pride, and a project they made themselves.
Practical learning for curious kids
We serve Florida homeschool families looking for structured, hands-on learning. In small groups, students do the real work of building — measuring twice, reading plans, understanding materials, and assembling projects — while they quietly practice math, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving.
This is an elective enrichment program, not a private school, licensed trade program, apprenticeship, or credit-awarding course.

The flagship Construction Fundamentals course is built around eight weekly sessions of demonstration, practice, and supervised project work.

Safety is built into every session
PPE, age-appropriate tools, individual instruction, controlled workstations, and close supervision. Tool use depends on each student's demonstrated safe behavior — we don't promise every student will use every tool, and no student work takes place on customer properties.

Is this a school or a licensed trade program?
No. This is an elective enrichment program for homeschool students. It is not a private school, licensed trade program, apprenticeship, job placement program, or course that awards school credit.
When and where do classes meet?
Classes are planned at a local warehouse arranged for classroom instruction and supervised hands-on work near New Port Richey. Price and schedule to be announced.
Can I use a Florida education scholarship?
Eligible Florida education scholarship funds may be usable for qualifying elective enrichment instruction. Availability depends on the student's scholarship, provider and service eligibility, and current program rules. Please confirm your individual situation with your scholarship organization.
Do parents have to stay?
No. Parents may drop students off, remain on site, or participate in designated instructor-led activities. A parent who remains on site is not counted as instructional staff.
